Booklyn Limited Edition Artist Books

As book artists and distributors of artist books, our passion is publishing original work with provocative and contemporary subject matter, integrating content with form. Our limited editions are produced through a hands-on, collaborative process bringing together great artists, designers, and authors, (both emerging and established) to edition art in book form. Our limited edition artist books aim to provide the reader with a combination of aromatic, tactile, cinematic, graphic, literary, and theatrical perceptions that cohere in an emotional, intellectual, sensual, and visual experience.

• 1-3 Limited Edition Artist Books per year. Edition sizes vary.
• Supports Booklyn artists and programming.
• Focus on contemporary, original work. Encourage the experimentation and cohesion of old and new technologies and media including: web publications, use of audio, sensory, video, and light technolories.
• Collected by University Libraries, Museums, Institutions, and Private Collections

Submitting an artist book for a Limited Edition publication:

A great book must have chutzpah!... be provocative in content, innovative in perspective, have literary value and subject matter that is either urgent to our times or timeless in its urgency.

• We encourage writers with diverse backgrounds and ideas to submit manuscripts for consideration for publication.
• We advocate for the freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and we are committed to supporting dissenting, provocative and controversial literature and art.

Artist Book Submission Guidelines:

~Rolling submissions. (No deadline)
~Print out and complete the submission form.
~Include a project mock-up or original of your book.
~Manuscripts/images limited to no more than 30 pages in length.
~We prefer manuscripts that are unpublished... we do accept individual poems or stories that have been published.
~Simultaneous submissions are fine...only please let us know immediately if your manuscript/project is accepted elsewhere.
~Manuscripts/images must be sent as hard copy for review... no e-mail submissions.
~Manuscripts must be in English, typed, double-spaced, single-sided including name and title on each page. Bi-lingual/multi-lingual text accepted and encouraged.
~Manuscripts will not be returned...do not send your only copy. Artwork will be returned if postage is included.
~Include a self addressed stamped envelope so we may get in touch with you.
~Please, do not call, e-mail, fax, we will contact you about your submission after review. Be patient..our review process may take a several months.
