The Workshop

Workshop: Introduction to Alternative Water-Based Silkscreen Techniques

Date: Five Mondays - June 1/ 8/15/ 22/ 29 from 7-10pm, 2009
Location: Booklyn Artists' Alliance Studio, 37 Greenpoint Ave, 4th floor, Brooklyn

This beginning workshop will introduce you to various alternative screen-printing techniques, including hand-painted screens, handmade stencils, and multi-color printing. Demonstrations will include screen stretching and preparation, mark-making tools, color mixing, and screen cleaning (fun!). Silkscreen is one of the simplest and most flexible printmaking methods. You can experiment with printing on paper, fabric and other materials. This class will above all be interest-oriented, with a focus on enabling each participant to realize her or his individual project goals.

Screens, inks and basic papers are provided for class use.
