Indigenous Medicinal Plant Talking Books
As part of his field work as an ethnobotanist, Bletter has re-designed commercial talking photo-albums (that use digital voice recorder chips) to house photographs of indigenous medicinal plants with spoken descriptions (in local dialects) of their type, location and medicinal use to non-reading tribal communities worldwide. Further customizing the books so that they are powered by solar cells Bletter has initiated a self-sufficient local/global project to preserve and expand upon traditional use of medicinal plants.
